MDS Vendor Feature: Tristan Needham & Jeremy Chou

With our first Mayesh Design Star workshop just around the corner, we wanted to give you a little taste of just what you’d be getting as an attendee. You’ve heard about our fabulous Design Star, Christy Hulsey, so wanted to highlight some other people involved!

We’re pulling out all the stops for our first workshop, and have put together a dream team of vendors to help create an amazing experience for you.

So without further ado, I’d love to introduce two very important people vital to the success of our first workshop. This duo has worked together on many editorials and shoots, so we’re excited to see their vision come to life in January.

Tristan Needham Design | @tristanneedhamdesign

Tristan was introduced to us by Christy at the start of this whole journey. The two of them work side by side on many design projects, and have an impressive portfolio of beautiful shoots and events. Tristan is a stylist & editorial designer based in Savannah, Georgia, who believes in “simple, yet meaningful designs.”

She is the brains behind the aesthetic of this workshop, and is passionate about telling a story through her designs. | Photo of Tristan: The Happy Bloom

Jeremy Chou Photography | @jeremychouphotography

Once Tristan came on board, she introduced us to Jeremy as the perfect candidate for photographing the workshop. With a background in Architecture, Jeremy is a fine art wedding photographer in Pasadena, CA. Similarly to Tristan, he uses his camera to tell the story of each couple and their special day.

Jeremy’s experience with weddings will translate beautifully as he helps us document the workshop, including individual close-ups of each attendee’s designs! These photos will be available to you for your personal and business use afterward, and are sure to be a fantastic addition to your floral portfolio. | Photo of Jeremy: Troy Grover

Like I mentioned before, Tristan & Jeremy have already worked on a number of projects & styled shoots before, so we wanted to share a few of their collaborations (click to view larger images):

Announcing 2017 Mayesh Design Star

2017 Mayesh Design Star Christy Hulsey

Wow, wow, wow! As usual, when Mayesh tries something different, we have no idea how it is going to go. And once again, we had so many great people step up to the plate and throw their hat into the ring for our latest Mayesh Design Star contest! Thank you to all who entered – we greatly appreciate all of the time and consideration you put into your entry. After combing through the submissions – watching the videos, looking at the portfolios and reviewing the workshop outlines – I’m happy to say that we selected the 2017 Mayesh Design Star!

We have had the pleasure of working with this year’s winner on a couple occasions – she has done a Mayesh Instagram Takeover and an interview. She is a big Mayesh supported and is always giving us love on social media (long before we started the contest). Our star is a Chapel Designer that has been featured on all of the top blogs with a style that is very on trend. Also, I love that her shop has been around for 50 years and she helped resurrect and rebrand a beloved family business.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have the great pleasure of introducing Christy Hulsey, of Colonial House of Flowers, our 2017 Mayesh Design Star!! Congratulations Christy!

My team will be working with Christy on the workshop details and we will post the Mayesh Design Star workshop schedule very soon! Stay tuned. In the meantime, check out Christy’s video:
