A deliciously fragrant summer flower that happens to be a member of the cabbage family. They come in an array of colors and tones.
Care and Handling:
Stock is susceptible to botrytis, so always inspect for signs of mold. The flowers should be double, unless specifically bought and sold as single flowers. Also check that the stems are clean, and if they have dirt, please wash thoroughly. Stems should be cut cleanly and crisply and placed immediately into water. Any leaves that will be submerged should be removed. Stock releases a lot of bacteria and tissue into the water so it is recommended that water be changed every day, and must be changed and re-cut every other day. The flowers should be hydrated in a low sugar holding solution and preferably processed in the cooler.
