Lily of the Valley

Delicate little flower that is full of romantic symbolism. In the North East USA large drifts of this flower used to grow wild in May, a little into late June, and were used in many weddings. These days, the woods are not so full of these fragrant little bell-flowers, but they are still popular for weddings. Lily-of-the-Valley has the scientific name of Convallaria majalis, which means “of the valley” and “May-flowering” respectively in Latin. However, in the “Language of Flowers” the meanings ascribed to Lily-of-the-Valley are entirely romantic: Return of happiness, Sweetness, Humility, You’ve made my Life complete. Select special short containers for this product. Examine for damage due to poor handling, especially creasing. Leaves that accompany Lily of the Valley should be discarded. Lilies should be processed in the cooler and placed into cold water after cutting the stems. Cut the stems crisply with very sharp blade and hydrate in a low sugar holding solution.
