INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE
After an incredible workshop experience in Quito, Ecuador in 2019, we’re beyond excited to continue this tradition in The Netherlands at one of our favorite farms, Montana Lisianthus. We’re going just in time for the famous tulip fields to bloom, so join us for a trip filled with top notch floral design education, farm tours, and to experience the beautiful country of Holland with some fellow flower friends.
Sue Mcleary is a floral designer, three-dimensional artist and instructor who creates unique and uncommon boundary-pushing floral art including elaborate headpieces, floral wearables, and her signature succulent jewelry. Sue's intricate, seasonally-inspired creations and wearable floral pieces have been described as exquisite "living artwork." Considered one of the country's top designers of floral wearables and succulent jewelry, her work has twice graced the cover of Fusion Flowers magazine, and has been featured in leading industry publications and websites.
Hanneke is a renowned Dutch floral designer from Scharnegoutum. Having previously owned a flower shop for eight years, she is now a freelance florist who travels all over the world to teach floristry and compete in floral competitions. Almost ten years ago, she became the youngest florist to become a Master-Florist. Hanneke has won several competitions and is a certified judge who was on the jury of a Dutch television program “Hollands Beste Bloemstylist.” She has truly created her own unique style, often working with frames but also enjoys classical work.
THE EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS
Hanneke will demonstrate her signature bouquet, and Sue will take you through the Anatomy of a Centerpiece, a more thorough look at a classic design. Afterwards you will be given the opportunity to create your own.
Hanneke is known for her “transparent” installations and will walk you through this complicated technique. Afterwards, you will work as a group to create a beautiful installation.
Sue McLeary is known for her wearable flowers, so you will be learning from the absolute best! You’ll be given an opportunity to create your own after Sue demonstrates her fresh perspective on floral fashion.
