Aralia

This group of foliages is unfortunately cursed with a completely erroneous common name, due to misnomers dating back some 80 years or so. The proper name is Fatsia japonica, and while it never used to be an issue, a few more foliages have entered the cut-flower market place with the name Aralia, including actual Aralia, so double check your image to be sure.

Aralia leaves (F. japonica) are palmate, with up to nine fingers, and now are available in green, variegated and “Spider’s Web”, a green leaf with white craquelure across the whole leaf.
