You may remember a little while back, we highlighted some amazing organizations around the country that repurpose flowers to give back to their community in our SAF Petal it Forward blog.
One of those organizations was The Bloom Project in Bend, OR, founded in 2007 by Heidi Berkman. Mayesh Portland is a proud contributor to this project by donating product at the end of each week for them to turn into beautiful bouquets for hospice and palliative care patients. This week they were featured on KGW, a local news station in Portland, OR. Check out the video below to find out more about this inspiring organization.
This past Sunday, some of our Mayesh Portland branch continued a busy, flower filled weekend (following their amazing grand re-opening party, more on that to come!) and attended the Field to Vase dinner at Holland America Flowers in Woodland, WA.
Portland manager Amy Gebhardt described it as a wonderful evening with amazing food as well as drinks, some of which which were provided by one of the few distilleries in the US run by a women, Eastside Distilling in Portland, OR. As with the rest of the dinner tour, American Grown Flowers described the event as having a focus on “celebrating the idea that the flowers at the center of the table should be as fresh, local and sustainable as the food on your plate.”
Check out some of the beautiful photos from the final Field to Vase dinner of 2016!

We have some big news in the Pacific Northwest… Mayesh Portland has MOVED! Don’t worry, we’re still in the Portland Flower Market , but we’ve taken over a much larger space inside the market, and we’re loving it. It’s fresh, open and oh so spacious. Check out these photos taken throughout the move last week, and if you’re in Portland, pop in and say hi!
This past weekend, Mayesh Portland hosted the Portland Flower Market Spring Wedding Show! Mayesh employee Jocelyn Kehrle reported on the show, keep reading for her recap!

The market was abuzz at 8am to see the much anticipated Franky Bollingh and Carolyn Shepard AIFD. Franky Bollingh started the show with an hour and a half segment of breathtaking designs! He has very innovative ideas which include dipping flowers and petals in wax, drizzling wax on arrangements, bending and manipulating wood and bark, and a really ingenious sprinkling of flower food on top of flowers to give the illusion of snow or frost on the flowers.
Carolyn Shepard AIFD was the second half of the show ending the day with a spectral bang! Bright and large arrangements kicked off her show with gorgeous summer colors. Adorned with wire and beads, it was a breath of fresh summer air! Beautiful Phalaenopsis orchids and Gloriosa from Mayesh took the stage, and our French tulips were to die for!
A big thanks to all of our vendors who donated and helped make this event so successful!
