Mayesh Gives Back This Holiday Season

Web

In the spirit of the holiday season and in the spirit of Mayesh, several branches adopted a family or hosted a toy drive to spread holiday love. It makes me so happy to be a part of a company that focuses heavily on giving back. Hearing the stories of these families told by our Mayesh team members was not only moving but also emotionally overwhelming. Here are a few highlights of the Mayesh team spreading holiday cheer. #mayeshgivesback

Adopted Mayesh Lonely Bouquets 2016

2016 Mayesh Lonely Bouquet

Two weeks ago, we hosted our third Mayesh Lonely Bouquet Design Day, but this year, we extended it to a full week! Our branches had an awesome turnout – Portland alone had 42 designers help send out almost 100 bouquets! Our favorite part about Lonely Bouquet is seeing all of the pictures and heart-warming stores flood in as strangers began finding these lonely bouquets around town.

We wanted to share the joy that was felt with this year’s Lonely Bouquet, starting with this sweet story sent to us by Paula of Southern California, about her parents’ experience finding one of the bouquets:

Dear Mayesh Flowers,

My elderly parents live in Santa Paula, CA and go to the local Thrift store on Main street every week as one of their regular outings.
My mother found a “Lonely Bouquet that was asking for a home” this week. She was so excited and happily took the bouquet home and put them in her special vase. She called all her kids (there are 6 of us) and shared her sweet find. I just wanted to send you a “HUGE THANK YOU!!” You have made my mother SO HAPPY! It is small sweet gestures like this, that can make someones day. I love a business that thinks like this and does thoughtful gifts of kindness. I would love to be a patron of your business, but after browsing your website, it looks like it is exclusive to business or private companies.

Again, Just wanted to say a “BIG THANK YOU”

Thank you for sharing, Paula, we’re so glad we could put a smile on your mom’s face!

We heard some more stories through Facebook & Instagram as well!

Each year many of our amazing vendors come through with generous donations that help make this day possible, in particular Naniwa (Japanese flowers), Alexandra Farms (garden roses), Greenrose (Ecuadorian roses), Agronatura (Ecuadorian roses), HOSA (spray roses and dianthus), Agriroses (Ecuadorian roses and garden roses), and XACT (garden roses). So thank you to those of you who donated flowers to all of our locations – we greatly appreciate your support!

2015 Art in Full Bloom Recap

Art in Full Bloom 2015
(Floral Fantasy winner, April Schwietz Mason of Mocha Rose)

This was the 4th annual Art in Full Bloom at our Mayesh Las Vegas branch. Each year it gets bigger and better and this year was no exception! Not only did we have an amazing turnout of about 200 guests but the art and flowers were out of this world. This year we added a new piece to the puzzle with a fashion show of designs from David Tupaz, Las Vegas’ premier couture designer. As always the entertainment for the night was provided by our two favorite ladies, Norma (Jim McCoy) and Doris (Jim Grifall) who gave us continuous laughs both on the stage and out mingling in the crowd. Our very own Design Star, Beth O’Reilly AIFD was also in attendance and gave a quick demo on how to make a flower crown. We even had a new addition to our photo booth… Johnny Depp! Well, the wax version of him from Madame Trousseau Wax Museum.

Mayesh would like to thank everyone who stopped by and joined in the festivities. Without you we wouldn’t have been able to raise over $6,000 for Safe Nest which is the driving force of this truly spectacular evening. We would also like to give a big thank you to Jim McCoy “Norma” and Jim Grifall “Doris”, MGM Resorts Events and of course the Floral Fantasy winners –Toni Andrade of Mayesh LAX and April Schwietz Mason of Mocha Rose Pittsburg, for making such outstanding designs. Great job to both of you ladies!

Parties For Purpose

Parties for Purpose

Our Phoenix branch recently donated flowers to a local organization called Parties for Purpose. It is such a great concept that we had to share a little bit about this wonderful organization! Parties for Purpose puts together birthday parties for under privileged kids in the metro Phoenix area. For this circus themed event, we donated a variety of fun, colorful flowers including lilies, carnations, pompons, roses and more. The Ringling Brothers were also involved in this event, which celebrated twenty deserving children… how fun is that?!

We received this shout out from them and couldn’t be more proud to work with great organizations like this one!
