With a passion for people & flowers, this designer demonstrates what it means to love both the art and artists within the floral community. Coming from the rural prairie, a hunger for culture & connectivity keeps Jodi on a quest for new friends and new trends. With social media at her side & AIFD accreditation under her belt, she has traveled as far as Scotland, Paris & London, gathering floral knowledge & friendships along the way. Marketing & merchandising are favorite topics. She loves life with her husband, daughters & a golden doodle, and this 2013 Design Star has 25 years of floral experience and looks forward to the Mayesh journey!

May Fresh Take: Rock 'n' Roll Bouquet

Jodi Duncan, AIFD bangs out a rockin' wedding bouquet fit for the Kiss chapel in fabulous Las Vegas. This design shows that thinking outside the box can turn your basic bridal bouquet into a rock 'n' roll hit! Starting with a grande bouquet holder, wire and Uglu strips, Jodi cranks up the volume by adding bear grass, died plumosa, red ti leaves, burgundy cymbidiums, African mask foliage, helleborus, burgundy peonies and begonia foliage.

April's Fresh Take: Flower Jewelry

This month Jodi joined us in our booth at Catersource Conference & Tradeshow to demo quick and easy designs. We got so inspired after the show that we wanted to expand on some of the wearable flower jewelry she showcased at the booth. These design are perfect for Mother's Day, weddings, and prom. Featured items are, dendrobium orchids, mokara orchids, phaleonopsis orchids, bear grass, and Magical Green eryngium.

March's Fresh Take: Trough & Basic Floral Arrangements

Mayesh's 2013 Design Star, Jodi Duncan AIFD, shows us a different take on the UCI Mill Stone Collection trough and basin containers by making the prefect arrangement to transition us from winter into spring. Using red dogwood, burgundy snapdragons, novelty tulips, scented geranium and pops of awesome succulents Jodi creates a very modern arrangement with a natural and earthy feel.

February's Fresh Take: Floral Armature & Boutonnieres

Mayesh's 2013 Design Star, Jodi Duncan AIFD, discusses her floral armature design for her client who will be proposing to his soon-to-be fiancé utilizing UCI's "wedge" container, stainless steel zip ties along with Pink Duke protea, Pink Flamingo calla lilies, tulips, and cherry blossom branches. A feminine and romantic design that has a masculine edge. Afterwards Jodi examines what the wedding boutonniers could look like as the armature as the inspiration using silver wire, zip ties, rustic wire, Uglu strips, protea, succulents, berzelia berry.
